Hi everyone,

I've been putting off writing the first entry for my LJ for so long but today is the special day for me.

It's the 21st birthday of Tegoshi Yuya, Nov. 11, and i wanna do something special for him, my ichiban ^  ^

With my limited gif-making skill, i've made some gifs for him. At first i wanted to focus on Tego's moods but during the process, i thought : "Oh, the gifs should be named 'Things i love about Tego'", haha .....So here goes: 

1. His face and smile

What can i say about his face. It has changed drastically since News' debut in 2003. Some fans said he started off as an ugly duckling with bucktooths and all. But hey, i love that boyish kid with bucktooths so much. I was deeply impressed by his singing voice and intense facial expression when he emerged from the stage right after Yamapi's part in I.za.na.zu.ki in Summary 2004. 

But then, after the movie Shissou, he suddenly turned girly with lighter skin and softer facial features. Wanna see the proof: 



This is when he went to Montreal to attend a film festival and promote his movie Shissou. I think the movie is like a turning point for Tego, he started to look more confident and comfortable in front of the camera.

And what can i say about his smile? I just love everything about it, from the shy smile he had back when News was formed or the "I-want-to-eat-you" smile that he has now.

Let me show some proof, this is the "forced smile" he had back in 2004, isnt it cute? 



 This is the awkward, shy smile of the old Tego, but hey, this one is still better than the one he had in News' 1st apperance on Domoto Kyoudai (DK) where Yamapi commented that Tego always had the same smile, haha... I love the show so much, thanks to them and the two funny hosts on Heyx3, Tego received more screentime and attention from fans. 

Okie, i wanna show u the gif that i love so much, this is Tego one year later. This is the period when Tego became a "cheery boy" who constantly smiled and did crazy stuffs with Kei-chan. What i love the most about his face is the eyes. They look like those of a "happy kid" or a puppy. With such pair of eyes, i dont think anyone can say "No" to him. And i think he knows how to use them very well (esp. with Koyashige!)

 

And this is his smile two years later LOL kind of arrogant but i still like it :3



2. His personality: sadistic, self-centered with no ill intention, hate to lose, ero-ouji, slutty, clingy, scared of bugs etc.... 

The supposedly "bad" traits above are part of the Tego we fans know so i have no complain about :P
He is sadistic and self-centered with no ill intention, oh yes, he is, but that makes him a very interesting and cute little brother. Didnt Kei-chan say he feel kinda lonely if the clingy Tego is not around to bug him?



And he hates to lose, uwaa this is so Tego again, in an episode of Onigoko (Yayayah), Tego fails to escape from the Oni and get caught. He was so upset about the loss and kept complaining for weeks (even in front of the camera, according to Shige and Massu. (U can visit our dear Newshfan LJ to see the subbed clip of it).

Ah, and if u notice, in the ItteQ episode where Tego went to Thailand with the two funny oji-san. During their meal, the four-eye guy asked if they're ok if he failed (he was forced to be the last runner). While the oldest guy seems ok with it and laughed in relief. Tego didnt smile at all, he had a serious look on his face, like 'dont joke with me' kinda thing. It's happen within one second so u have to see the scene quite a few times to see it. He really hates to lose, isnt he?  

His sluttiness is beyond my imagination, he lets his *chin chin* out there for Shige to look LOL and even danced naked in front of him ROFL Poor Shige, if i were him, i would enjoy the free show very very much *get bricked*

And one more thing, everyone knows that Tego has a girly face and like to act cute/girly/slutty all the time. Some fans even think he's *ghei*. He tends to be really cute and girly on stage. I think it's part of the "assigned image" Johhny asked him to put on because they know it would sell very well. And it does, i fall for his cuteness every freaking time.

But, on a side note, he's also athletic and has a very boyish personality. He often does strong movements during concert (the boy is so hyper,yay). Not to mention his gestures, very boyish. If u watch Massu's interview after Pacific concert, within the few seconds before Ryo's random "ItteQ", Tego probably gets bore, he sits down, puts his two hands under his pant (in a very relaxing way). Somehow it's similar to Pi's "careless moment" caught on tape in the Neverending Wonderful Story Documentary.
 
Btw, his classic line: "One day, i'll become God" never fails to amuse me. He's only managed to become an super gorgeous "rain tenshi" up until now :P

3. His hardwork:

This reason should probably go with the second one but i'm gonna rant a lot on this so ... let's separate it, why not? 

We all know that it took Tego only ten months to be debut with News, a bunch of stranger including the sempai he admires, Pi and the another one that he found intimidating (guess who? It's Ryo, the sempai that later is so fond of him ^.~ ) 

Except his singing, Tego was quite an inexperience junior, his dancing was always a tempo slower than the rest of News. Tego was a shy kid back then, he either had an shy, akward or indifferent face in front of the camera. From his interview, i learned that Tego used to practise dancing alone and ended up getting yelled at by the dance instructor for "disappearing during the practice". That must have been hard on him. But that's a part of a Johhny's life, u get yelled at by the dance instructors  :( 

During the hiatus, Tego asked Massu (News' dancing sensei) to teach him dancing and the work paid off. Just see their come-back performances of Hoshi wo mezashite.  Tego became a totally new person with his new hair style (which i love so much). 



I never get tired of seeing this scene :3

Tego has changed so much during the last five years and it's not because of pure luck but the hard work that he has done. He is one of a few JE boys that i admire so much for their dedication to their career. 

4. Member Ai

Member-ai is quite a controverial topic among News fans and non-News fans. Some say they do have, some say they dont. For me, to some extent, there is member-ai.  Besides the long-time-married couple Koyashige which is famous to anyone, the rest four also maintain a good relationship with one another. 

Ryopi is too famous to talk about, they belong to a close circle of friends made up from a bunch of hot guys like Jin, Jin's brother, U-kun, etc... I admire their friendship, they grow up together and maintain their close relationship for all those years. For me Ryopi is real, there is indeed member-ai. The pair is awesome, not just something "on the surface" ^ ^

My most fav pair, Tegomass, is a different story. They are more like guy friends who casually hang out with each other (well, most of the time is Tego forces Massu to go, though). They dont have much of a "history" like Ryopi or Koyashige. But the friendship is obviously there. 

Massu is a special person, he's quite shy and silent. But he looks really comfortable around Tego (as well as Koyashige and Maru of Kattun). Johhny-san is awesome, he possibly knew Tegomass would sell well and paired them up at the very start and then got them debut in Sweden.

Tegomass look so cute together (not as a couple), i cant help but squealling everytime i see them around each other. 



This is their super cute dance right behind Yamapi. It's kinda hard to see, isnt it? Btw Yamapi looks really good here, too. I dont mind his perms at all :P  



And I literally went crazy over this scene: Massu sits so comfortably on Tego's laps and if u see closely, Tego also puts his left hand on Massu leg (in a very natural way) and later ... that hand moves to Massu's shoulder. Tego also rests his head on Massu's shoulder during the interview, kyaaa ..!!




And now, let me present to u, another famous pair, Tegopi. This pair is quite special, we all know Tego was and still is a fanboy of Pi. Tego once said he wanted to compete with Pi, yappari it might be one of the reason Tego became sexy lately.



I also adore Ryotego so much. Ryo seems to be quite gentle toward Tego, they made constant eye contact during the concert and Happy Bday pv. And this is one of my fav Ryotego moment in Pacific documentary:



Sorry, i tried to make it clearer but this is the best i can do. Tego is showing Ryo how to do the ItteQ pose and Ryo is doing it in a very cute way. Maybe Ryo has watched the show, ne? Hehe it reminds me of the time Shige mistook the Junior Q pose for this one and got scolded by Kei-chan. They're such a cute couple :3

Let me introduce to u a pair of silly brothers, Koyatego:



They tend to do silly things on stage.



Display their brotherly-love in front of public eye too much :P

And i love the pair to bits. Tego looks absolutely relaxed around Kei-chan and his obsession with skull accessories definitely comes from kei-chan's influence.

Last but not least, we can not miss Tegoshige rabu rabu, cant we?  This is the odd pair, they're of the same age but one looks much older than the other. Shige gets bullied all the time and he keeps complaining how Tego stopped respected him like when he first entered JE. And their interactions are too cute to descrive into words. Tego just randomly picks on Shige while Shige tries to pay back by saying some bad stuff about Tego during the interviews or MC.  

And Tego once said he think Shige is manly because he's not afraid of bugs LOL  

This is the part where Shige "bitchslaps" Tego before they got on a plane to go to Taipei. Tego really looked like a girl from behind. I'm glad he has more meat now.



5. Tego is no out-of-reach type of idols

I think this is a common trait of JE boys (or at least, that how Johnny-san wants his boys to act so). They seem so real, down-to-earth to me, not like the western bands that i used to be a fan of. 

I love Tego because he's not perfect. He was not born to be perfect. He has a good singing voice but that is not enough to make him a popular idol. Only within a few years, i've seen so much growth from Tego. He sings, dances much better now. He learns how to handle interviews, talk shows and be completely relaxed in front of the camera.  

But as an awesome idol as he has become, i still love his fail moments :P

During News Summetime perf on MS, Tego, with his "rocker-chick" outfit, almost got trip over his scarf, well, same thing happened to Yamapi in their 1st perf of Taiyou no namida on MS.

Well, the three pairs were supposed to tap each other's hand as part of their dance, but Tegomass failed to do it. And then, after their mess-up, Tego just cutely sticked out his tongue. I go aww everytime i see this few seconds  :x



Tego trips ... but the point is ... this is another type of Tegopi, hehe....

Alrite, this is my first post for Tego and the following posts may be News-centric as well. 

Hope u guys enjoy the post. Btw, one fellow fan used to ask me if my LJ name tegomassuki means tegomass and maki? My answer is no, i'm not interested in any female actresses or whatsoever, all i care about is JE boys :)  

Happy Birthday Tegoshi! I wish u all the best. Please always be an awesome News member, dont bully Shige too much, be nice with Massu and Kei-chan. Stick with ur style if u want, i dont mind the slutty Tego at all (^.~)

I hope u'll achieve ur dream of having a concert of ur own in near future.
